This is my first contribution to the forum, but I have lurked for a while and have been have been playing a few months. I've realized that most noobies (new players) and some older players do not understand basic game etiquette. Hopefully this will help a little bit.

Getting a team:

1) Not every archer (character) wants/needs virtue points. Instead of spamming talk and whisper channels with "team" or "team plz" ask politely "Do you want VPs?" or "Could you use some VPs?" (VPs= virtue points, gained every time a team member 20 lvls below you gains a level) If the answer is yes, welcome to the team, just follow closely and stay in the screen. If the answer is "no", do not continue to spam whisper or talk channels with "team" or "team plz" or start repeatedly bringing up the team window. They have answered you already, and your team requests will continue to get denied. If you catch an archer (character) on a bad day or just become annoying they can and will kill you and happily loot your items and money for being annoying.

2) Being Plvled (Power Leveled) is not an in game right you have. See #1. If someone chooses to power level you, be respectful of the fact they are helping you. Do not assume every item they find should be yours, or that you should recieve all the gold that is dropped from monsters. If they choose to give you some items or gold at the very least say "thanks".

3) If you see two people from the same guild out hunting or trying to level , be prepared to not be allowed in the team for two reasons. 1) They could be "real -life" friends who will divide up any gold or items they find between themselves, how they see fit. 2) They could be out trying to level a weapon or skill profiency and will divide up whatever they find as they see fit between themselves. By having an unknown (you) in the team it forces them to choose to allow you to pick up items or completely turning them off and only the person killing can pick them up, because they don't know for sure that you are trustworthy and will actually divide the items when your finished..

Items

1) If you have to sit on something because you get the message "you cannot pick up items from monsters that have been killed by other players" , it is not your item to pick up. This is especially true of an archer using "scatter", that may be a screen away from the monster they just killed, if they see you sitting on an item, you may die, because they know it's not your item or you could have picked it up already. Don't start name calling or complaining because you died from your stupidity. What's worse, if you have a high lvl alt (alternate) character and threaten them with death, because you felt like acting like a noob was "cool", that time could have been spent levling or power leveling your other character and gaining your own VPs and items.

Promotions

1) At least know the basics of when you should be promoted and what requirements there are (whether you need euxenites for archers or emeralds at lvl 70) Start here http://www.conqueronline.com/guide/c.../warrior.shtml do not expect the items to be given to you, it's not hard to get every promotion item at the level you need it if you just follow the in-game guide click the "?" and it tells you what and when you're supposed to be in a certain area. Around level 70 and need to know where to get an emerald? hmm the guide says I should be fighting hill monsters.. *hint* maybe they drop them.

Archers

Do not act like a total noobie when an archer is scattering into a crowd of monsters, if they don't kill them in 2-3 hits they're trying to lvl just like you, you can ask to be on their team, but don't just run into their "mob" and start killing that just makes you look helpless and pathetic, go find your own mob. This is especially true of higher level warriors and trojans in Bird Island. If you can kill there easily move on 1 hitting things doesn't help with experience go somewhere else where the monsters are tougher, your not a "god" if you can 1 hit lower lvl things than you and you do not impress anyone.

Be Polite

I understand that not everyone in the game is respectful to you, but as time goes one the players with good attitudes will find you and want to talk and maybe invite you into their guilds and friends lists. I understand that as people we want to lump everyone into categories (example all egyptians use aimbot or all BR's are bad people) that is in excusable, but understand their may be a reason that particular person feels that way. If a player has had mostly bad encounters with BRs, he/she will lump you into that category unless you prove your not, be respectful, talk with them, make them understand your different and they will gain respect for you, but if you live the stereotype be prepared to put up with the fallout.

in particular the items & the teaming/plvling issues.
if you HAVE to sit on an item, you are stealing. THE END. you can, and maybe should, be killed.....the burned hand teaches best.
as for the other; maybe that ought to carry a death sentence as well. it IS terribly annoying. frankly, it's like a 3 years olds "can i , huh? can i, huh? can i, huh?". & you KNOW you wanna whack them.

also, not everyone wants virtue points. not everyone wants friend adds. some "lone wolfs" just want to PLAY THE GAME.

as far as attitudes of ANY level players, NO ONE "owns" ANY area on ANY map in conquer. & people shouldn't have to fight/kill/die just to play in a certain area.
try to remember IT'S A GAME.

I'm afraid you contradicted yourself..

Yes, people can "own" an area/map on conquer if they have the balls/power to do it. It's up to them what they want to do. They should know the consequences of their actions

I'm not one of the people who do that, but it's just a game after all like you said.. there's no net-police or whatever watching over them so heck, who cares what you're doing? we're only playing this game for fun, not to follow an imaginary set of rules

Thanks guys, I just hope that at least a few people understand that as an archer or any high lvl (110+) it does get pretty annoying to be constantly bombarded with team spam and repeatedly getting the team window opened in the middle of fighting monsters. If you're polite and show a little courtesy, I will show it back and if I don't team you I will at least explain why.

And yes I do agree in part LetoKynes, but to be in areas such as Wind Plain or Phoenix Castle with any character over lvl 80 just seems like overkill. Bird Island was just the example I used in that case..

Hells I'm not even an archer and I get that all the time. I'm a 127 Fire and I tend to be helpful with guildies and all. Somehow helping them turns them into insane beggars who wont stop spamming me for lvling. Let alone all the other noobs and br's in BI.

Exactly my point there.. Once you help them they keep asking for more, we can't keep on spoon-feeding the newbies

Random noobs that want to add me to their friends list while they're getting plvl'd is fine.. I tell them I'll call them whenever I'm plvling. But if they're messaging me everyday for plvl.. -.- There's not one morning I don't wake up without seeing messages of those people asking for plvl :/ I've decided to slowly delete them off my list, one-by-one, while they're offline (of course, I don't want to hurt their feelings ). A few of the smart ones actually notice when I delete them, so I'm hoping that one day they grow old and forget >.>

I am really amazed that everyone defend archer despite that they are most iriitating noobish class that thing if they can hit a lot they can do whatever thay want. A lot of times i was leveling with SM while some archer (that wasn't there before) jump in kill monsters and when i tried to still SM them killed me. It is almost 2 or 3 times every day i am trying to level in BI. First i even tried to ask them about going into other place or at least leaving some mobs so i can level but always only response i get was an rapid fire into my char or silence with two additional scatters into mobs nearby my... So i started to hate archers i will be happy when some day i could Kill every archer i see...

^^In that case, the archer was in the wrong clearly.

My point was that alot of time archers, clearly have a spawn when a war/tro will jump and start killing to rack up kills in SM or Cyclone. If you are 1-hitting and getting anything over 200+ kills with an xp skill.. have you tried moving somewhere harder, like lab ?!?! The key word is "easily".. if you can kill easily there.. move on.

Playing on both sides Archer/Tro has helped me see both sides of the arguement, many times playing on my archer, I'll will be the victim of ks (kill-stealing) from wars/tros, and the opposite is true when playing on my trojan, I'll have a mob using rage and rainbow clubs to lvl and all the sudden all everything is dead. And yes even a few times by my own guildies.

Which is why this thread was started if I can get just a few people to read and follow through, we might be able to change some attitudes.

When getting constantly bombarded with team spam (team plzzz) in whisper and talk channels or getting your team window opened, tell them "no" you should have asked more politely. And if they don't stop block them. Simple and effective. And maybe they'll ask the next person politely.

Though it may like I'm against powerleveling, I'm not. I just dislike the "I will do anything annoying to be on your team" types. If that stops I'll happily power level anytime anywhere as long as they ask politely.

There's not much that can be done about the ks'ing and tro/war vs archer debate, sadly. Until we get more places to level Bird Island will always be a high lvl, plvlers playground. I have seen some good suggestions in the suggestion section of the forum.

And if we can ever get TQ to notice the section and at least read through to some of our complaints and problems, it may just change.

While many will say they (TQ) only want to make $$, that may be true, but if more ppl are higher level and have more options of where to hunt, they may spend a little money if they haven't already or may spend a little more if they already have.

*I have noticed (a huge thank you to TQ for this), that BI seems to not be as crowded in my server with the new quests they've added. Whether this is only temporary or will be a permenant thing is yet to be seen*

You forgot to add 1 or 2 minor things:

When travelling in market and checking people's gear out, stop trying to whisper them or opening up the trade window with them.

If they wanted to "Sell ur *****", they'd have it on a mat or broadcast that info.

And if your selling something in market, do you really think walking around trying to trade or spamming peoples talk (I turn mine off when going into market) with S> ***** or B> ****** will really make them want to sell to you?

And to all scammers: You suck. period. If you say your going to sell something for a db, dont complain when you get pk'd if your ever out of market.


Also, forgot to say this first: Really good guide. I just wish more people would read it.

BI is for the archers tho, same as bas. If you get out of line here we'll just pk you. Every server has its its tough SOB archers that have plvled half the server, so if you bring your main (which I personly love to hear) we'll just kill them too. Stay off our sht, stay out of our way and dont talk to us when we workin/plvling. That really is what every 120+ archer wants and expects. If the team is full then move along. If we dont already know you really well, were not goin to "whisper you back when we have an opening," we'll just take the next low level we see as we need them. We arnt goin to kick someone else off the team for you either so unless you want to wake up in the city...dont bother asking that.

Everyone likes to buy cheep mets and SDGs so dont waist our time by crying about us ksing you in halks, causing problems and making a fuss cuz you dont know where else to go. Anywhere accept the outside ring of halks would be a good place to start.

Yes and Yes! I'm still kinda new to the game... but I just don't understand the market spamming or random trade requests. I mean, I don't know what you want to trade! I'm just lookin' around and these people don't say anything to me, sooo annoying.
