Vista + Issues with typing [Merged]

I have Windows Vista and I've alwasy had that odd little symbol that appears at the end of my chat lines if I only put in one character. Ie: I respond with "k" and I get the little thing. But now I am getting this odd thing where I randomly get tons of weird symbols while I'm typing that appear on the screen. Sometimes they appear in the chat once I hit enter, sometimes they don't. Some other times I get fragments of things I or other poeple have said... Any ideas?

I have always used a wireless keyboard/mouse and the only thing that is new is I installed a new Tablet today... I don't think that would be a big problem.. but it is all I can think of.

So since no one seems to be paying attention... I'll just go ahead and say that is the Tablet. I uninstalled the driver and the typing came out smooth and normal. Re-installed it and I got the obnoxious characters. Anyone with ideas around this? I need the drivers in order to utlize certain functions of the device.. but I don't want *****ed up conquer typing.

Chaos it isnt because we are ignoring you, its because we dont know whats wrong. I dont use Vista, so cant help you there, but you know how bugged Vista is when using it with CO.

Oh nono.. I didn't mean it like that, I know you're busy lol. I just meant that since no one had offerend any opinions or ideas- not that you were ignoring me ><.

I also figured if I pinpointed the problem (Drivers) it would be easier for people that don't experience the problem to offer up suggestions. ^^

i haven't installed anything and everything was working fine. i never played for two days and now get the stupid symbols when i came online

As far as I knew that happens with everyone that uses vista, so it's more a compatibility issue with communications between vista and CO. Some people say right clicking the CO shortcut and telling it to run in compatibility mode for XP SP2 fixes it, but other say it doesn't.

For the time being there's not really anything we can do until TQ decides to work on vista compatibility

Hmmm. Didn't think of that, I had it set for XP when I had the issues with cyclone, but put it back once I updated my graphics drivers. I'll try setting both to XP (Conquer and Tablet-if I can find the tablet driver) and report back.

Doesn't work with changing all applications in Conquer folder to Windows XP compatability.

I knew it had problems, but one random character at the end of the line if there was only one character there is no problem at all.. odd bits of characters and random repeats of previous lines are lol.

And the Tablet doesn't have any applciations so there is no way to change that.

New ideas?

>.> That was helpful. I upgraded it lol. Like I said before there was no major problems before the one I'm posting about now. I have a full Windows XP install and 2 hard drives, but I don't think a game is worth having dual Operating systems.
