Post Explanation about meteors, gems, dragonballs, composin items (+x) and sockets.

Since I've been answering alot of these questions lately, I decided to make a post of it. Hope I help, good luck to you all!

1.- Meteors:
They are semi-rare items dropped commonly by monsters, they are used to upgrade the level of your quality items (quality items as in refined, unique, elite, super). It is useful if you have a refined Sword, yes, but when you find a better quality, use that one. For example, you have a level 10 sword, you are level 15, you go to TwinCity's ArtisanWind, give him a meteor and your item, and he will try to upgrade it. With items less than level 60, the upgrade rate is 99/100, it lowers from 60+ (it is recommended to use Market's Artisan for upgrading level after that high level). Also, you can pay a meteor to a NPC which I forgot his name (he is right next to ArtisanWind in TwinCity) which will change the color of your armor/helmet. Note: You may get a socket in level upgrading in TwinCity (verrrryyyy rare) OR you may get a socket in Market upgrading (UBER SUPER MEGA RARE). Note, elite and super items has a higher chance of failing in TwinCity. I recommend putting Supers in Market, always.

2.- Dragonballs:
They are very rare items dropped (almost never) by monsters, or bought oficially from the site. What do they do? They do two things, one is socket items (explained later on), and the other is to upgrade the Quality, as said before, refined, unique, elite and super. It goes in that same order. If you have, for example, a refined sword (level 10, again), and you want to make it a unique, you get a dragonball(s) and you head either to TwinCity's ArtisanWind or the same Market's Artisan which upgrades level too. (It is recommended to always do at market, even though he charges more, TwinCity's ArtisanWind fails ALOT in quality upgrading), you give the artisan you are going to use the required dbs, and (if youre doing it in twincity I wish you luck!) you now have a Unique sword. Note: also, you can get a socket by upgrading quality in TwinCity or Market (super uber mega rare, as before ).

3.- Sockets:
Sockets are used in your weapons or armors (or helmets, necklace, etc.) which allows you to insert a gem to boost something (depending on the gem). Socketed weapons are super common, and also can be gained by paying dragonballs (1 for first socket, might fail, and 5 for second socket, never fails, in BirdIsland's Artisan). In the contrary, armors and other equipments (such as bags, bracelets, necklaces, rings, boots, shields, etc.) is very rare. The only way to gain them is by trying your luck by upgrading quality or level in TwinCity or Market. (Also, reborn characters get a socketed armor/gown/coat [depending on their class] on level 100 promotion).

4.- Gems:
Gems are rare stones found by mining, you can insert them in a socket in your weapon or other equipment. Each gem does different things, and gems are divided in 3 qualities, normal, refined and super. (of course normal is less rare than super... and cheaper). Some examples of gems are, PheonixGem [gives more magic attack], DragonGem [gives more physical attack], KylinGem [gives more durability], MoonGem [boosts magic experience], RainbowGem [boosts leveling experience].

5.- Composing (+x):
Composing weapons is making a weapon (+1), (+2), etc. [The limit is (+9)]. Each + gives more stats to your weapon/other equipment, for example, a (+2) armor gives more defense and/or magic defense. (The extra stats are highlighted in purple in the description of the item). To make a (+1) you must have the following things: (lets take for example, a sword, again)
- The sword you want to compose [basic item]
- Two (+1) regular or quality you dont care for losing [minor items]
After having that, goto Market and talk to the artisan that composes (I forget their names... sorry! ), put your Basic Item in the big slot, then put your Minor Items in the two other slots. Press OK, and voila! Same process goes to (+2), (+3) and over are a bit more complex. Maximum I've ever seen is a (+4)...
They are found by monster drops or bought by other players, to notice that it is a (+1), first of all it has "(+1)" in the end of its name, and purple stats in the end of the description!

One-handed weapons with One-handed weapons.
Taoist Cap with Taoist cap.

I'm not gonna name EVERY single item but I think that explains.

This is more of an advice question, rather than a "what is" question but...

Let's assume you have:

+1 Normal Backsword
+1 Normal Backsword
Elite Backsword

Is it better to put them all together to make a +1 elite backsword, or is it better to keep the elite backsword as is, and work up the +1s to elite?

I've never seen an elite +1 backsword in the market, so I dunno how much they go for.

Talking Flashy Sci-Fi!

Sci-Fi: There are 4 categories of weapons, and you need +1's of the same class to get the good one you're using +1 (or higher):
- Bows
- BackSwords
- 1-handed weapons
- 2-handed weapons

Flashy: I think it would be cheaper to just buy an elite +1 BS @ the market and sell your items, cause if you wanna make a normal +1 elite you need lots of DB's and the 3 items together are not much more worth than 1 DB, so...
An Elite +1 BS goes for under 2 mill in Dragon server, you can get over 2 mill for the 3 items, only problem is you need to run into it in the market...

Ah, I'm playing on the tiger server. Each normal +1 BS is about 1 mil here, not sure about an elite BS, I'm guessing around 1 mil also (without sockets). I'll see if I can find an elite +1 BS for 3 mil or less.

Btw, If you have an item with 1 or 2 sockets, and decide to compise it, will it always retain the number of sockets it has?

ty ~Fury!

Flashy, yes it does, I never heard a socket could disappear, and as far as I'm concerned, composing and socketing are stand alones.

You can't lose sockets in ANY way possible. You can get them by paying the artisan in birdisland some dragonballs, or risking your luck wasting meteors/dragonballs in upgrading level/quality in TwinCity or Market.

(I got a second socket in my robe a while ago in market upgrading! I'm so happy. It's the second 2-sock robe in the game (Server), they say!)

If you compose your items with +1(s) with socket(s), there is no chance the sockets will be passed to your items. As the great Jay said, composing and socketing are two different things. You go Jay. lmao.

question about composing items as i havent done it yet

so if STARTING weapon is say a level 15 SUPER club

and you compose with 2 +1 normals or something

does that make it +2 and SUPER or what exactly

and then if it does i was thinking that after my dragonball purchase from the conquer company where ill keep 2 sell 3 in game n all, would it be wise for ME to go around with few million and buy up ALL THE CRAP i need @ low lvl at super and all at low lvl then buy heaps of mets and after making it all +1 i can then just upgrade with mets to the appropriate level

thanks

No, It will be a Super lvl 15 Club +1. You need 2 more +1s to make it +2.

Then you need 2 +2s to make a +2 turn into a +3.
2 +3s to make a +3 turn into +4.
